Applying for funds
The Trust works in two main areas. We’re a grantmaker and we’re actively involved in supporting projects on the ground in coalfield communities.
Our Grants Programme
One of the major strengths of the Coalfields Regeneration Trust is the flexibility of our funding programmes. They’re there to help people, not make them jump through hoops. At the one end of the spectrum we give grants from our ‘community chest’ to small organisations to help them develop, and at the other end we give large grants of up to £200,000 to bigger voluntary, community and statutory organisations.
Our grants programme is about helping groups who respond to local need. But we’re also proactive in developing ideas and projects that address key issues such as worklessness, isolation, skills, sector development and sustainability.
In short, the Trust is always interested in working with partners to deliver projects and programmes that will contribute to the regeneration of coalfields communities.
We try to keep our application form as simple as possible. However, as we are using public money we will need quite a bit of information from you, for we must manage our funds in a proper way.
It is important that we can judge how effective our funding decisions are in contributing to the regeneration of the coalfields. It is also important that the activities we support fit in well with our own priorities and those of other regeneration programmes.
