How to Apply for Funding
The Trust’s Grants Programmes
To deliver its activities the Trust will operate two grant programmes:
- Main Grants ranging between £10,001 and £50,000
- A Community Chest ‘Bridging the Gap’ ranging between £500 and £5,000
- Community grants up to £500
Main Grants
It is anticipated that 80% of grant spend will be on the Main Grants programme and will be available only to projects based in, or providing services to, or where beneficiaries are from, the data zones in the 20% category. This progamme will adhere very closely to the SOAs and the regeneration objectives of the CPPs, and will be managed and delivered by Programme Managers, based in Alloa. Organisations wishing to apply to this programme must first discuss their ideas with a Programme Manager who will assist them to determine strategic fit, alignment to the Trust’s investment priorities as well as targeting and outcomes for the project.
Bridging the Gap
The Trust recognizes the important contribution made by small community groups to the social and economic regeneration of their areas and is aware of the value they place on the availability of funding which suits their requirements to deliver small-scale projects, which meet local needs. The Bridging the Gap programme will be more flexible, in that ‘softer’ regeneration outputs eg on learning and experience, which have a valuable contribution to their local area, will be acceptable. Organisations wishing to apply to this programme should contact the Alloa office.
Community grants up to £500
The Community Grants programme provides support to new or small community projects wishing to purchase equipment, access training or build capacity at ground level. Applications can be processed in 8 weeks and applicants should contact David Wright at the Alloa office in the first instance”
Eligibility
We welcome applications from new or existing groups, organisations and agencies throughout Britain who are contributing to the regeneration of coalfield areas and their communities.
Because we are a charity, your project must follow the Charity Commissions guidelines to receive charitable funds.
Your project should be based in an eligible coalfield community or be able to show clear and immediate benefits for an eligible coalfield community. Please look at our Eligible Wards list; if your council ward is listed then your organisation is able to apply to the Trust for funding
Your local regeneration manager will be able to offer information and advice on both these issues.
