Bridging the Gap Case Study

A690 Youth Initiative

This funding (£6,791) supports the establishment of a new youth facility in Plains Farm in Sunderland. This has arisen after a social housing association has offered premises at the heart of this deprived community, at a peppercorn rent to house the new facility.  The base will provide a drop-in facility for young people from the estate to access specialist advice, support and signposting to additional services. Eventually detached youth workers will operate from the base. The grant supports the costs of the office set-up.

The project targets 600 young people, 124 of whom will gaining accreditation for training activity through the project.
