SKILLSBuilder
SKILLSBuilder is an innovative programme that demonstrates The Coalfields Regeneration Trust’s ability to work in an imaginative way to tackle the problem of job loss and work displacement due to colliery closures.
The programme was devised by the Trust in response to the closure of the Prince of Wales Colliery in Pontefract but has since been rolled out to include miners at the Selby mine complex. The novel design of SKILLSBuilder has meant that the programme has been able to adapt and expand into other areas where jobs are threatened.
Breathing Space
The UK’s first specialist respiratory centre was officially opened by the Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott on 21st March 2007. For more information click here
