The Family Employment Initiative in Wales is a strategic partnership – run by BTCV Cymru.

The Coalfields Regeneration Trust in Wales awarded a grant of £400,000 to BTCV to deliver the FEI project in former Coalfield areas as part of the wider programme match funded by the European Social Fund (ESF).

 

What can the Family Employment Initiative do for you?

  • Provide a wide range of volunteer and informal training opportunities to improve skills or to re-skill
  • Provide soft skill support – confidence building, time management, and team building that leads to training and employment opportunities
  • Support to engage with other programmes for training, debt advice, substance misuse advice, mentoring
  • Support to engage with other programmes for 1-2-1 help with CV writing, interview skills, completing application forms
  • Work experience placements
  • Offer support for employers encouraging them to employ older individuals
  • Create small scale community led projects that provide a positive contribution to the local area
  • Offer support for people with caring responsibilities especially children and any transport barriers

Where is the FEI operating?

The FEI is operating in Ebbw Fach Valley, Tredegar, Rhymney, Pontlottyn, Abertysswg, Trevethin, Waunfelin, Merthyr Vale, Aberfan, Dowlais, Rhondda Fawr Valley and Bridgend.
