Home Internationals

The Home International event is the pinnacle of the Midnight League programmes that are delivered on a weekly basis throughout the former Coalfields of Scotland and England. The Welsh influence comes from a series of trial fixtures and a squad of sixteen players are selected to participate.

The Home International event is a unique opportunity for young people to represent their country, transporting them out of their usual environment and giving them an experience that they will remember. Most of these young people will not have ventured any further than their own village and it is hoped that this experience will give them the sort of influence that is required to support them in their future careers. The event itself allows young people from across the United Kingdom to come together and develop their skills through a series of activities that are provided by the CRT staff.

In summary, it is hoped that by using the power of football, we can give all participants of the Home International event a fantastic opportunity and they will come away from it having had a very positive and rewarding experience.

The 2010 Home Internationals will be held in Cardiff previous events were held in Scotland (2009) the North West (2008) and Yorkshire (2006 & 2007).
