Proposed Housing Development

Shirebrook Community Land Trust propose to create 80 new sustainable homes by 2012:

Provide individuals and families opportunities to part own, rent to buy or rent homes on a flexible basis within the development.

Deliver a high standard of living accommodation.

Be designed to provide flexible housing to meet current and future needs of the community.

Have a range of homes of various sizes and type

All homes will be designed to meet high environmental standards with an element of renewable energy

Aims to meet Code level 4 (minimum) of the Government's Code for Sustainable Homes

Delivery of the Development

The Coalfield Regeneration Trust will pioneer the project. The Trust has the necessary skills and experience to deliver this Scheme.

A planning application for the scheme is expected later this year and work should start on site in 2010.

The first home should be available in 2011.

Following completion the new houses will be managed by a local body which will include people who live there.
