Coal Industry Social Welfare Organisation
A major part of CISWO's work is in regeneration of mining communities and, through specific projects and successful partnerships, large amounts of external grant aid has been secured to renovate and renew, to re-establish and make relevant miners' welfare provision in the UK.

Game On
GAME ON is an exciting football initiative designed to encourage the regeneration of lives, communities and facilities in former coalfield areas.
The project is jointly funded by The Coalfields Regeneration Trust and The Football Foundation and specifically targets the most deprived coalfield wards in the North East, East Midlands and Yorkshire Coalfields.

URBAN II - Community Initiative for Hetton & Murton
The URBAN II Hetton and Murton Community Initiative is being delivered by the Connecting the Coalfields Partnership. The Partnership is investing over £7 million of European Regional Development Fund money in the communities of the Hetton and Murton area. That money is being matched from other sources to make a total investment of over £14 million.
