Game On, the successful football programme delivered by the Coalfields Regeneration Trust, has extended its outreach activities to include a walking football session for elderly residents. Footsteps 2000 Ltd, the Warrington and St Helens based charity supporting the families and friends of those affected by drug and alcohol misuse, has received over £9,000 from the Coalfields Community Investment Programme. Receiving £9,735 in total, the organisation will use the funds to employ qualified counsellors for 52 weeks to engage with people who are adversely affected by the drug and alcohol issues of loved ones.
