COALFIELDS FUNDING TO SPARK ENTERPRISE Clowne Enterprise, the Bolsover based organisation providing business support and advice, is celebrating after receiving £10,000 in funding from the Coalfields Community Investment Programme. The £10,000 in funding, the maximum grant given by the Coalfields Community Investment Programme, will be used to deliver the ‘Sustainable Enterprise Support Package’ to residents in the Bolsover, Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire area. Tailored to the needs of those who are unemployed or at risk of unemployment, the programme will teach business skills using online and classroom-based seminars, training workshops and one to one coaching support, giving people the confidence to become self-employed and start their own company. Paul Davies, Chief Executive of Clowne Enterprise, comments: “Starting a business or becoming self-employed can be a daunting experience and people often have the skills, ideas and know-how but just simply lack the confidence needed to take the plunge.” “Grasping aspects of business such as financing, employment law and sales and marketing can be challenging, but with the right help most people soon get to grips with these. Receiving the funding from the Coalfields Regeneration Trust means that we’re able to equip local people with the skills they need and help them to kick start their path into self-employment” Lynn Utting, Development Manager (England) for the Coalfields Regeneration Trust, comments: “Caring responsibilities, redundancies and illness can often knock people off course when it comes to employment but becoming self-employed can give these people working patterns which are more suited to their own lifestyles.” “By working with Clowne Enterprise through the Coalfields Community Investment Programme we’re able to give people the skills, training and confidence which they need to find a way of working and earning which is right for them, creating a lasting legacy in the Chesterfield area.” As Clowne Enterprise has become a member of Coalfield Community Investment Programme it will continue to be supported by the Trust and will have access to bespoke practical support including access to resources and services such as help with third-party funding applications and bid-writing, to tips on effective promotion and marketing.
