This is an exciting opportunity to join The Coalfields Regeneration Trust and take a leadership role in the delivery of our MATRIX accredited Employment and Skills Service. In this national role you will manage our expanding team of Employment and Skills Coaches working across the Yorkshire coalfields, develop new partnerships with local and regional stakeholders and develop a new pilot apprenticeship brokerage service working with SME’s. As part of our England Community Programmes Team you will work closely with the Development Managers for our other core programmes and in supporting the delivery of our targeted area based work. Our Employment and Skills Service has been in operation for over ten years and is a non-mandated programme that offers bespoke support to individuals to help them build skills and gain employment. Our ambition is to scale up delivery into other regions and we have recently secured an ESF/National Lottery Community Fund contract called Doing Good Business.

You will be an experienced programme manager with great leadership skills and an ability to drive forward our programme of work. You will have an in depth knowledge of employability pathways, skills development and apprenticeships and a demonstrable passion for making a difference to people who require additional help. The Coalfields Regeneration Trust has child protection and safeguarding vulnerable adult’s policies in place and the post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check and references.

Organisation Profile

At the Coalfields Regeneration Trust our ambition is to champion and strengthen coalfield communities, generate resources to respond to their needs and deliver programmes that make a positive and lasting difference. We are dedicated to improving the quality of life for the 5.5 million people living in former mining towns and villages. We are proud of our track record over the last 20 years and have delivered targeted programmes that have addressed many of the huge challenges caused by the closure of the coal industry. The scale of the challenges impacting on our communities is significant and far reaching and we recognise that we cannot work alone. We will continue to work in partnership across all coalfield areas with national government, local authorities, the third and private sectors wherever practical. With this support and partnership approach we know we can make a life changing difference to our communities so that they can make a positive contribution to social and economic performance of the UK.
