This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of The Coalfields Regeneration Trust’s Game On England programme. Game On is an award winning Sport for Change programme which, through direct delivery of predominantly football activity, aims to improve the health, skills and self-esteem of Britain’s former mining communities.

Since the re-introduction of the once national Game On England programme in 2018 the programme has initially re-started delivery in Yorkshires coalfield communities. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Development Officer to support the programme to allow for further growth of the programmes offer and for its expansion into other regions of the country.

Managed by the Game On England Development Manager, this role will oversee the day to day running of the programmes existing delivery in Yorkshire and support the development of the programme in the East Midlands. This will involve the management of sessional coaches, forging and maintaining a range of relationships with a range of organisations such as community organisations, local sports club, facility providers, schools, and local authorities. You will also play an integral role in the promotion and marketing of the programme and its sessions and the delivery of training, events and tournaments.

You will be experienced in a sport development or sport coaching background and be highly motivated and passionate about making a difference to communities through sport and physical activity. The post requires flexibility incorporating both evening and weekend work, and ad-hoc session delivery.

Organisation Profile

The Coalfields Regeneration Trust (CRT) is Britain’s leading regeneration agency dedicated to Coalfield Communities.  Since 1999, we have awarded over £100 million in grants.  However, we are far more than a grant maker and we are increasingly taking a pro-active approach to developing and investing in strategic programmes to address regeneration issues. In fact, CRT has always prided itself as being more than a funder often supporting groups and communities in ways that do not involve grant funding such as training, facilitation, mentoring, advising, supporting, brokering and being a trusted friend.  CRT has a constituency of supporting communities, groups and partners which places it in a unique position to help communities develop community regeneration projects.
