Our impact Health Opportunities for Children and Young People Sportsworks (Scotland) Coalfield Sport Works (Clackmannanshire) A total of 11 young people (aged between 18 and 32) from across Clackmannanshire have been taking part in the 12-week sports based employability programme – Coalfields Sport Works. Coalfield Sport Works is delivered in conjunction with Wasp Community Football Club based at Indodrill Stadium, home of Alloa Athletic FC. The participants have enjoyed sporting tasters in Football, Rugby, Basketball, Gymnastics, Golf, Boxing, Bowls, Skiing, Rock Climbing, Ju-Jitsu and Rowing whilst also undergoing development modules in employability, volunteering, social media and art work. The programme has enabled 5 of the participants to undertake volunteer placements within the community, all of whom will receive the SQA National Progression Award in Volunteering as a result. Given the success of the programme in Clackmannanshire, Coalfields Regeneration Trust will be rolling out Coalfields Sport Works Programmes throughout 2016 in Cummnock and Prestonpans respectively.
