"Changing the face of coalfields communities."

Since 1999 The Coalfields Regeneration Trust (CRT) has invested over £250m in the English coalfields. This has supported grass roots community groups, voluntary organisations and strategic partners to deliver activities that have made a positive difference to lives of tens of thousands of people.

CRT has also responded to gaps in provision and developed packages of support, delivered by our in house teams, that have; engaged thousands of children and young people in sport and healthy lifestyle activities; provided support to families and helped individuals find work, helped miners who have been made redundant make the transition into other careers; created exciting volunteering opportunities for young people, delivered large scale events that have brought communities together; developed a menu of accredited qualifications aimed at young people and delivered a Coalfields National Apprenticeship Programme that has created over 500 apprenticeship opportunities for young people.

In England CRT operates in the following regions; North East, North West, Yorkshire, East Midlands, West Midlands and Kent.
