About Us

The Coalfields Regeneration Trust is the leading regeneration organisation dedicated to improving the quality of life in Britain’s former mining communities.

Game On Wales is a programme delivered by The Coalfields Regeneration Trust. CRT Game On+ is our community support offer of the programme, which includes: community asset transfer support; kit grants; and access to volunteering & vocational qualification opportunities.

About These Guidelines

We appreciate the time and effort that fundraising takes and aim to be as clear as possible about what the CRT Game On+ Kit Grant programme does and doesn’t fund, how to apply and how long the process typically takes. These guidelines relate to our CRT Game On+ Kit Grant programme, which is open all year round for applications - available in Wales only.

The CRT Game On+ Kit Grant

• The aim of the CRT Game On+ Kit Grant is to get more young people (13 – 19) from Welsh coalfield communities to play sport.
• We fund sports kit to maximum value of £750.

Who We Support

• Applications from new and existing community sports clubs. Any UK recognised sport.
• Youth sections of sports clubs are welcome to apply but permission must be sought from the ‘host’ club.
• Clubs / teams must be located in a priority coalfield community – please check before applying via this link

What We Don’t Fund

• We do not support individuals, private businesses, schools, councils, professional clubs or elite / representative teams.
• Clubs that have applied to us within the last financial year.
• Clubs without an appropriate governing document (evidence required).
• Clubs without an appropriate safeguarding policy (evidence required).

The Application Process

We have a one stage process which typically takes 20 working days from submitting your application to receiving a decision. Reading our guidelines thoroughly and including all the information we request will ensure that the process is as speedy as possible for you.

Preferred Supplier

If approved, clubs will be referred to our preferred supplier to make necessary arrangements: Macron Store Cardiff (Taffs Well) http://macronstorecardiff.co.uk/

Payment of the invoice will be made directly to Macron Store Cardiff by The Coalfields Regeneration Trust. Should we agree that they cannot meet your requirements adequately, we will ask you to supply a detailed quotation from an alternative supplier.

Customisation: If your application is successful, you will be offered a variety of Macron kit options i.e. styles, colours to choose from. Your kit will be embroidered with your club crest. The kit will also feature Game On Wales and / or The Coalfields Regeneration Trust’s logo.

Any customisation in addition to the above will have to be agreed and you will have to meet additional costs. Should your kit and / or equipment order exceed £750, you will be required to pay the balance due to the supplier before collection.

Approval Conditions

Publicity: As part of the funding agreement, your team / squad will be required to publicise the CRT Game On+ Kit Grant award via your social media channels, tagging @CRTWales on Facebook or X within one month of the kit being received.

Evaluation: At the end of the financial year we will send you a short survey to help us improve this grant fund.

1. I understand that any award made must be spent as itemised within this application. Any changes must be approved by the Coalfields Regeneration Trust prior to making any commitments.
2. I understand that my organisation must supply any monitoring information required by the Coalfields Regeneration Trust.
3. I understand that any underspend of a grant by my organisation must be identified, and returned to the Coalfields Regeneration Trust.
4. I confirm that we are aware of the duty of care to Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults (adults at risk) and have taken necessary steps to comply with the legal requirements.

6. I confirm that the group named has authorised me to sign the application on their behalf and understands that the Coalfields Regeneration Trust reserves the right to reclaim all or part of the grant award, should we fail to honour any part of the contract.

8. Payment of an approved grant will be made directly to Macron Store Cardiff from the Coalfields Regeneration Trust.
9. If Macron is unable to meet our requirements I understand the Coalfields Regeneration Trust will consider quotations from other suppliers.
10. I understand that our kit will feature the Game On Wales and / or the Coalfields Regeneration Trust logos as described in the customisation section of this document.
11. I confirm we have not applied for this fund previously in this calendar year.
12. I confirm the group/team named in this application comply with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK General Data Protection Regulation and will obtain appropriate consent when creating publicity/monitoring information in relation to this grant.

What Happens After I Submit this Form?

• Our CRT Game On+ Kit Grant programme is open for applications all year round and our staff review them carefully on an ongoing basis.
• As our staff review applications on a regular basis, there are no deadlines that you need to meet, you can apply at a time to suit you.
• We review applications in order of receipt to be fair to everyone.
• It takes approximately 20 working days from applying to receiving a decision.
• Once we have acknowledged receipt of your application you may not hear from us for a few weeks – please do not worry as this simply means that we have all the information we require. If we feel anything is missing from your application we will get in touch to ask specific questions.
• Your information will be securely stored in line with our privacy and data protection policies.
