On this page find out how we are making a difference in coalfield communities. You can also watch our most recent impact video where some of those people we've helped tell you their experiences.
Let's take a look at our impact in 2023/24…
68,000
people in coalfield communities benefited from CRT activities.
Each year the Coalfields Regeneration Trust and our partners help thousands of people in coalfield communities change their lives for the better. Whether it's through our own activity or supporting the work of others we are able to maximise the impact for people living in the coalfields.
26,000
people improved their health, skills or job opportunities by working with the CRT.
Almost one in five people in coalfield communities is economically inactive. The CRT works to tackle this through our priorities to tackle health, skills and work challenges facing people in coalfield communities. Each year, we help thousands of people move towards finding work.
£5.9m
funding was accessed by 883 community partners supported by the CRT.
Coalfield communities tend to find it harder to attract significant external funding. We support our community partners - grassroots charities operating in the coalfields - to access millions of pounds of funding by providing them with support, data and information to make their funding bids the strongest they can be.
Below is an overview of the impact we have made across the country.
