Asedau Ni - supporting communities to secure the future of the places that matter
Community assets play an important role in towns and villages across Wales. Whether it's a community centre, village hall, local shop, green space or other valued facility, these places bring people together, provide services and help communities thrive.
Taking on and managing a community asset can be rewarding, but it can also be challenging. From governance and business planning to funding, maintenance and long-term sustainability, many organisations need specialist support to turn their ambitions into reality.
That's why The Coalfields Regeneration Trust is supporting the delivery of Asedau Ni (Our Assets), a new Wales-wide service that brings together practical support, expertise and resources to help communities take on and manage the assets that matter to them.
Asedau Ni is a Wales-wide support service and hub for community assets, bringing together practical support, expertise and resources to help communities take on and manage the places and assets that matter to them – from community shops, pubs and village halls to childcare centres, arts spaces, farmland and woodland.
These assets are more than buildings or land – they are places where people meet, services are provided and local life happens. Asedau Ni brings together practical support, specialist expertise, resources and shared learning to help communities navigate the challenges of managing these assets and keep them rooted in local life for years to come.
Asedau Ni, delivered in partnership
Asedau Ni is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund and led by DTA Wales, and delivered in partnership with The Coalfields Regeneration Trust, Building Communities Trust and the Institute of Welsh Affairs. The partnership brings complementary expertise and experience to provide a coordinated service for communities across Wales.
