Coalfields Regeneration Trust represented at the Dedication of the National Miners Memorial

Coalfields Regeneration Trust were represented at the Dedication of the National Miners Memorial unveiling on Friday 3rd September 2021. Scottish Trustees Nicky Wilson and Robert Young attend the service, and the unveiling of the memorial by HRH The Duke of Gloucester.

The National Miners Memorial in Alrewas, Staffordshire,  pays tribute to the many thousands of men, woman and children who working in the United Kingdom coal mining industry and those who served or died in the service of our country.  47 miners who served in WW1 and WW2 were awarded the Victoria Cross. Between 1890 and the end of WW2, over 12000 miners lost their lives in the pits.
