Our recently opened CRT Knottingley Hub welcomed 44 attendees from local charities, community groups and regional services for its first dedicated VCSE networking event this week.
The event was designed to bring organisations together, many that are doing vital work in the community but often in isolation. By creating space to connect, attendees were able to build new relationships, re-establish existing ones, and explore opportunities to collaborate and better support local people.
Early feedback highlights the success of the event, with attendees rating it 4.6 out of 5. Conversations on the day have already led to potential partnerships, including discussions around delivering nutrition support sessions for parents and increasing awareness of local services through community groups.
Attendees represented a wide range of organisations, including community spaces, health and wellbeing groups, youth organisations, advice services, and sports clubs. This diversity reflects the strength and passion of the local voluntary and community sector in Knottingley and Ferrybridge.
One attendee shared:
“I was able to meet some services that I hadn't yet met, as well as make plans for events over the summer.” – Rhea, Community Shop Knottingley
This was the first in a series of quarterly breakfast networking events, with future sessions planned at community locations across Knottingley and Ferrybridge. Organisations interested in getting involved are encouraged to get in touch.
